My wife purchased shoes from Step Ahead in Bedford Centre in November last year. Unfortunatley the shoes were defective and Step Ahead confirmed that they would refund the purcahse value
When my wife tried to get the refund for the shoes later in the month the store attendant requested her banking details. My wife questioned this as it was a credit card transaction. The attendant tried to pass it off as standard policy and became defensive when my wife heatedly indicated that this seemed suspicious. Without a resolution my wife left the store
Today (23 Jan '13) my wife again attempted the refund and this time the attendant accepted the credit card stating that she had done refunds with credit cards thousands of times. My wife then requested a store slip (over and above that of the credit card machine) in case the refunded did not take place and she needed to come back to the store. The attendant became aggressive ultimately wripping up the merchant copy of the credit card machine slip in my wife's face.
