October 2012 a Timex watch was purchased for a birthday gift for my son. Two weeks ago a pin broke off on the watch. Taking the watch back - which supposedly still have a warrenty to Due South this morning resulted in being told that the watch will have to be sent back to the supplier for repair. Note repair - not exchanged.
Telephone calls to TFG - the mother company of Due South resulted in being told that the watch will be repaired and couriered to my son who works 400 km from his hometown, and 200 km from PE. In the Greater Addo Game area. He is a game ranger and needs his watch to be able to do his work properly. COMPANY POLICY DICTATES THAT THE WATCH BE REPAIRED. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE PIN BREAKS OFF AGAIN. IS COMPANY POLICY GOING TO SAY, WAIT ANOTHER TWO OR FOUR WEEKS UNTILL THE WATCH CAN BE REPAIRED AGAIN. IS IT ALL THE COST INVOLVED WORTH TO REPAIR THE WATCH THAN TO SIMPLY EXCHANGE THE WATCH AND SENT THE DEFUNCT UNIT BACK TO THE SUPPLIER???
