Barcodes alway's in a mess

I went yesterday to purchase a Nespresso machine at Dion Weird Fourways. Firstly the staff don't know their product they selling and could also not answer me with prices of the refill capsules. The item was on a nicely presented promotion priced at R.3450. When I arrived at the till the price came up at R.4500. Now nobody knew what to do, they where going up and down the isle checking the bar code speaking to the supervisor and and and. After about ten minutes I asked them if this would take longer as I had to attend a meeting. After about another five minutes I asked for the manager. When the manager arrived the only thing she could say was "sorry". So after a total of about twenty minutes they managed to get the code right. Surly if you run a promotion on an item you should enter the right code in to the till to avoid problems like this. And this was not the first time. Customers don't like to stand at the till for such a long time when they make a single purchase.
