I bought an Avent electric breast pump in January (2013) 6 months ago. I am a working mom and started using the breastpump daily upon returning to work in May. I express at work & have no other means of power (to be able to use the mains power lead), I rely solely on the battery pack which has failed me this week. I have now resorted to using the breast pump manually.
I spoke with the Avent Rep Jana vd Merwe this morning who was very rude, raising her voice with an aggressive attitude, all because I am an unhappy customer?! Well, is that not the job of a Rep? Dealing with unhappy customers? All I did was calmly voice my disappointment in the lifespan of the product. I am sorry to say, you handled the situation very poorly.
But besides the poor service, on page 17 of the Breastpump user manual it states that should the breastpump become faulty during 24months after purchase, it will be replaced free of charge, however, I am told that the battery pack is not covered under the guarantee which supposedly only includes the actual pump head AND that there is currently no stock of the battery pack in South Africa. What good is this breastpump to me without a portable power supply?
