Money owed on closed account

I closed my Edgars account in 2007/2008 and called them for FULL AND FINAL Settlement amount.
Edgars gave me the settlement amount themselves and confirmed that the account was closed after confirmation was received by myself.
THEN two days ago I get a SMS from a MBD Inc informing me that I missed a payment on my account (not specifying any supplier details or anything).
I call them.
The gentleman at the other end informs me that I owe Edgars money and while laughing tells me I owe them R2 (yes, TWO RAND).
I cannot believe that after I closed an account, and after 5/6 years Edgars NOW wants R2 from me.
Are they insane or just desperate for money??
I CLOSED THE ACCOUNT, EVEN CONFIRMED IT WAS CLOSED SO THAT I DONT EVEN PAY FOR THE BOOK EVERY MONTH.
If that was NOT the case I would have owed them FAR MORE than R2.
THEN they would go to all the trouble of NOT even calling me with an explanation but directly handing me over to lawyers to collect the money on their behalf.
I am not impressed with Edgars, not impressed at all.
