I had an Edgars account, in December 2009 when i was in some financial difficulty i decided to close accounts that I was not owing much on would cost me if kept open. i called the accounts department to close the account and was asked to pay a small balance owing at one of their stores and to advise the accounts department to close the account once payment was made.
Since that day I had not received any notice of monies owed to Edgars, nothing via Mail, E-Mail not even a phone call until today i received a statement from the lawyers doing a collection. if i had known of this outstanding balance i would have queried it a long time ago.
I have stated my case to the lawyers and they referred me to Edgars Accounts Department who can verify my details as being correct but not give me any answers, instead my calls are put on hold for long periods of time.
