July 2008, I purchased a lounge suite from Furniture City in Randburg on the basis that it was leather, provided a leather furniture cleaning kit as gift. 2 years later, these couches fell apart, started peeling out and to my horror i discovered that it was in fact not leather. I called into the head office, i was provided a contact with the Randburg branch and was told i need the invoice because they cannot determine the supplier without the code even though I had proof of payment. I tried to source the supplier from previous adverts for Furn City etc and eventually found my original invoice. Then came the horror. For over a year, i have been sent to the branches of Furniture City, Ellerines, i have called numerous people. I have been told such nonsense about this. Examples are: The manager currently is not the manager that sold me the item so she cannot do anything about it, the shop is moving so they are to busy to assist me, the shop has relocated so they cannot find my documents, i should contact the supplier, i should arrange repairs with the supplier. It is going on and on for about a year or more now and still no resolution.
