I work in Sandton but live in Centurion. I went to Makro Woodmead this morning to purchase a safe and on the recommendation from one of the assistants, I purchased a Yale safe. On getting home this afternoon, I opened the box that the safe was in only to find that I was unable to open the safe and the keys for the safe were locked inside the safe. I called Makro Woodmead office at 17H00 today and spoke to a man by the name of Chris or Christo. I explained my problem to Chris. Chris advised that I should bring the safe back however, as I live in Centurion, it is not just a matter of getting in my car and driving to Woodmead at 17H00 on a Friday afternoon in peak hour traffic. On saying this to Chris, his response was, Quote "Well what do you want me to do? " Unquote.
I am shocked and disgusted at this sort of treatment from a Makro employee and intend taking this matter to the highest level.
