Failing to replace a Damaged Laptop

On the 3rd February 2013 I bought a laptop from game Pavilion, when I got home I realised that the LCD was damaged.
I returned the laptop to game on the 4th Feb in Pinetown were they referred me to the Pavillion. When i got to game at the Pavilion they refused to replace the damaged laptop told me they can only fix the laptop.
The problem I have is they gave me the laptop in a sealed box never bothered to check if the laptop inside was working fine and when I returned it, they refuse to exchange it on grounds that I could have damaged the laptop on my way home. Which to me it doesn't make sense, since the laptop could have been damaged in the store before it was handed to me. Eventually they agreed on fixing the laptop, which is now taking forever to get it fixed.
My child really needs the laptop for her studies; I returned the laptop to Game in February 2013 and we are now in July 2013, it's been 5 months patiently waiting and i cant wait any longer. So i suggest i get a refund or a replacement.
This is frustrating, since I have paid money for this laptop that I don't have it.
The only thing i want i want is for game to replace the laptop or refund me.
