I sent my daughter to shoprite with a kettle that lighted up like a christmas tree namely the essentials brand! Mrs Busby tells her that this kettle was standing next to a stove and we yanked the cord! You can clearly see by the cord that it is black and melted the wires inside! We laying a charge of defamation of character against shoprite for making us liars! We don't have a stove so I don't know when whe came over for food to state this!! My daughter also had a problem with their essentials mini oven which blew as well! Just goes to show like my daughter's friend said: "shoprite sells rubbish"!! We have a two plate which we use in the lounge and my daughter has a mini oven which fits perfectly on her freezer and the kettle stands next to a fridge on top of a tupperware on a table on it's own and we have even neighbours who can vouch!!
