Edgars mixing my account with someone else's

Edgars has somehow or another mixed my account up with someone else's. This other person has his own account number, physical address, but has my identity number and my email address. His statement comes to my email address, which has all his details on but comes up under my identity number. I have sent five emails asking for this to be sorted, with no response. I then received a call from one of the Edgars branches, saying a lady was there to purchase things but her account was with my ID number on. I told the lady from Edgars that I had sent emails regarding this, and she told me it was my responsibility to go in and sort it out! What am I supposed to do? She was then rude and said then its my problem when the purchases goes onto my id and I would be responsible for the payment! I have had my Edgars account for 25 years, and now I cant even purchase on my account as my card has not been activated as I got a new one last year.
