I took my kids to the local Woolworths to get some shoes and socks on a sunday morning. Upon arrival at my local Woolys clothing i was met by scowling rude looks from the security guard as if because i am black i had brought my family over to from the store.
The floor staff inside didnt bother to greet us or even try to help even thought they could clearly see we were looking for shoes and needed some assistance finding the right sizes. All they did was stand in a corner look at us and giggle. They spoke in Afrikaans thinking i couldnt understand them, making comments about how we looked and if could affford the stuff we were holding.
This is a store that prides itself on BEE friendly policies and for being a family store, i beg to differ. All Woolies are is a bunch of bigots and i will never shop at a woolies again. I work in HR for a large international firm and i will be sending out a group email telling all my colleagues to boycott woolies outlets as we eat lunch there everyday. Im also encouraging them all to tell their friends not to shop there.
