Browns The Diamond Store
R33000 Anniversary ring lost diamond

My husband bought me an anniversary ring in April 2013 which is valued at R33000, I was at the hairdresser and saw that 1 of the 7 diamonds was missing. I took the ring to Browns for their assessor to have a look at it, and got an e-mail back from them saying that my ring had come into contact with a fairly hard surface over a period of time, and a quote for having it fixed. I explained to them that I am a housewife with people helping me in the garden and the house, I do not do any sport and my hobbies are reading and needlework, and that the ring was definitely not bumped as I would know. I also do not understand how a ring can come in contact with a hard surface over a period of time on the top side of my hand, as the diamonds are on the top of the ring and not the bottom of the ring which is the side of the hand that you use for everything. My husband saved for a very long time to buy the ring cash. We do not have the R5560 that they quoted us to have the diamond replaced and the ring fixed. It was the most beautifull ring that I have ever seen end I was so proud! I also feel that I am 100% sure that I never bumped the ring. They should have some sort of warentee on craftmanship
