To all those considering getting a Cape Union Mart Card - DON'T!
They offer you R600 vouchers for taking out an account with them (a R100, R200 and R300 voucher for expenditure over a certain amount).
You get your card and then discover that you have been opted in for insurance that you have not agreed to. You are charged R27 for a card that is a store card.
WORST OF ALL - YOU ARE CHARGED INTEREST FROM THE DATE YOU USE YOUR CARD TO PURCHASE THE ITEM UNTIL THE DAY YOU SETTLE YOUR ACCOUNT. So you end up paying more for the item than it cost on the shelf!
Wow, no credit card I know of offers these stellar terms (sarcasm intended).
For those who know about these things it is managed by RCS.
If your going to do this kind of thing Cape Union Mart please call this what it is - "A LOAN" - it is not a credit card or a store card by any normal interpretation of that term.
