Argumentative staff & misleading information

I went to Body Shop intending to buy the two body butters for R200 advertised as on offer. I chose my body butters and went to the counter. I was then informed that I could not make use of the offer unless I took out a Body Shop card. As far as I could see, none of the advertising said this. The staff were adamant that they would not allow me to buy the products. I said I did not want the card. They said 'it's only a points card'. However, I did not want to feel bullied into getting the card - which is how I was feeling. I asked them why I could get this offer at Clicks without getting a Body Shop card. They said they did not think the offer was on at Clicks any more - but I pointed out I had just come from Clicks. In the end I walked out leaving my purchases on the counter as they refused to ring them up. I did not go and buy them from Clicks either as I wanted to buy them at Body Shop rather than Clicks as they have a bigger range. I am a regular Body Shop customer and this puts me off going again. The service seems to have got worse.
