My boyfriend bought me a 18ct white gold square cut diamond ring in December for Christmas which cost him a fortune for this ring. Because it was the last size ring left he decided to buy the ring for me anyway after asking the sales lady before he purchased the ring if it could be made smaller. She assured my boyfriend that the ring could be made smaller and he bought the ring. We took it back to Cresta to have the ring re-sized and was advised that it would cost us between R100.00 and R150.00 to make the ring smaller which we agreed, 2 days later I received a call from Charity advising that the Durban Head Office has the ring and they have just advised that the ring needs to be re-made as they cannot re-size this ring and it will cost us R1250.00 to have the ring re-made. After calling the branch manager and explaining what we were told on the purchase of the ring and now its changed she said she would call customer service and see what they can do. We were then advised today that customer service are not willing to assist us and we will need to pay to have the ring remade. This is unacceptable and we were to just so they could make a HUGE sale out of us.
