Refusal to accept return of bad quality item

I bought a pair of black pants at YDE Canal Walk. When I took the pants out of the parcel at home, the pants was creased and frumpled with stains on it. I took the pants back to the store and complained about the bad quality of the material. They refused to credit my account or take the pants back. With the new consumer act a customer is entitled to return any bad quality item within a six month period. I feel that I've paid R550 for a pair of pants that looks second hand and creased.
