Useless Gift Cards

In December I bought 2 gift cards for friends of mine at Edgars Melrose Arch. Each was to the value of R1000.00. When the cashier was working with the cards, she was having a problem with her terminal. But at the end after 45 Min. the cards were loaded with the money.
Can you imagine my embarrassment when one of the people got to the counter and there was no money loaded onto the card. All the goods were piled up and no money to pay with.
It turns out that while the cashier was working with the cards, she threw away the card with the money loaded, and gave me an empty one. 45 minutes to wait for nothing!!!
I then went to the Sandton store to see if they could fix it. 1 hour later no joy!!!
I resorted to go back to Melrose Arch.
4 hours later I left with a card with R1000.00 on it.
By now I did not want the card, but wanted my money back!!!
The manager said they could not do that.
In the mean time I had given R1000.00 cash to the person with the faulty card.
I now have a card loaded with R1000.00, have spent over 6 hours trying to sort it out, and I no longer want to shop at Edgars!!!
