Went to Checkers in 6th in PE on Sunday 28 April to buy a Steakhouse Classic Rump Steak for the bring and braai my wife and was invited to attend with friends. The first bite of meat made me realise that it was rotten - I did not want to spoil everybody else's meal in telling them that my steak was rotten. I kept the packaging in the freezer. I was going to go to Greenacres shopping centre on Friday 10 May. I decided to first check with Checkers in 6th avenue and spoke to Chantal van Jaarsveld if I can take my complaint to the Greenacres Checkers store. She said yes - but at the same time said that the meat is not a Checkers problem, the butcheries inside Checkers is not her problem.
At Checkers Greenacres a young man (Jarrod Dyer), with a butcher outfit was summoned to talk to me, asking me where the meat was, that he will need to see the rotten meat do address the matter. I was very surprised that Checkers expect from a customer to bring back rotten meat of 2 weeks ago from a braai, in order to proof that the meat was indeed rotten? This I told Jarrod Dyer and he then told... rest of report can be sent to Checkers...
