On sunday, 5 may 2013 at? 11:00 did my shopping at pick n pay lotus river/schaapkraal (cape town) as its around the corner from my place. I went to buy halaal braai meat, pre-packet spiced pack with chops & sausage at R30 each.
On Monday 6 may I went to braai & hoped to enjoy good meat. As the meat went on the fire, it gave off a terrible smell, which I ignored. Later when I gave it to my guests they also mentioned the bad smell & didn't taste fresh. One of my guests even felt ill, the bad taste still stuck in her throat & coughing. I feel really bad, cause I bought the meat & I am very disappointed in the bad quality (old) meat pick n pay put on their shelves, then just spice the meat to make it look ok.
Unfortunately I ready threw packaging & slip away. I want this matter to be brought under the attention of the manager, people can get ill from their bad meat.
I won't recommend anyone to buy meat at this pick n pay store.
I swiped my shopping card, hope my slip can be traced & I can get refunded.
