In 2010 we had an attempted break in at our house. My dog was poisoned, we decided to install outside motion sensors. Adt Security was contacted and a sales rep was sent out. He recommended three VX 40 motion sensors with twelve meter ranges at a cost of R 13000 including installation. We were assured by the rep that the sensors could be set to detect body mass. We have two cats that use one bedroom window. We were told this would not effect the sensors. Adt has been out on numerous occasions to test and set the sensors, which are only triggered during the day. Adt is now charging us for call outs which are beyond our control, as they claim the sensors are triggered by birds during the day. We have asked on many occasions for someone of authority to come and assist us from Adt but up to now nothing. We were told by Adt control centre on 22/03/2013 that a sales manager would be contacting us. During the last Over Active Assessment my wife was handed a contract for monthly monitoring at cost of R 50.00. I appeal to Adt Security to please send someone to us and explain how these sensors don't pick up my cats but pick up birds more than twelve metres away.
