ADT decide not to respond to alarm

Last week an ADT engineer attended our property to service the alarm, replace the battery and leave us with an almost R1000 bill. The alarm had been going off randomly but ALL the houses in our street have been burgled or had intruders recently.

On Friday 8th March, the alarm went off about 10pm, and we received no phone call from ADT. We phoned the call centre and Agnes said that "there had been a lot of false alarms at our property" and so ADT decided not to call or attend our property.

We are utterly disgusted with this service and will be investigating moving to another security provider. Also, ADT seem to be unable to buy a ladder and climb over a palisade fence to investigate the alarm going off - so what's the point of having security if ADT are unable to see if there are any intruders or whether the occupants of the property are fine?

This, especially in light of families being tied up and then the house being burgled. ADT also are very inconsistent with their responses, sometimes asking for our security password, and other times not. You cannot implement a policy and then not abide by it.
