We attended an event on Saturday evening and being two women alone called ADT Security to provide their Rendezvou Service due to one of neighbours having had an attempted hijacking in front of his gate in Uys Krige Street on 22 August 2013. We had called the call Centre and spoke to Phidiza (not sure of spelling) she sounded half asleep as well. We requested her to arrange for an armed response officer to escort us in 20 - 25 minutes time which was about 12h55. On arriving at home approximately 20 minutes later, we found the security car parked but the driver was sleeping as could be seen when the lights shone into the vehicle. I flicked the lights but received no response. at 21 minutes past 01.00am, my son received a call advising that the unit was still waiting outside but nobody had arrived. We had in the meantime opened the gate, parked the car, entered the home, locked up. We kept a lookout for the guard to approach the gate as we usually give the pass word before they leave. I called their call centre, and spoke to Phidiza who told me that she would call the unit off and asked me for the password which my son had already furnished to her. Can we rely on ADT?
