Incompetent & bad attitude towards customers

I received a statement in April that my debit order didn't go through, not sure why, non the less, i was asked to make a deposit into the account. Which i did & forwarded the proof of payment. A month later i received a statement that i never paid, as usual i phoned & sent them a proof of payment again. Nothing was done as every month i received the same statement showing overdue. After 4 months of trying to sort out this query that i've paid, yesterday i receive a letter & they still claim that i haven't paid & i need to settle the account within 7days, my account has been handed over to their pre legal department for collection & i will be listed with the National Credit Bereau. I mean i have paid this. I've called them a couple of times & as usual i was placed on hold for more than 40minutes, how unproffessional. How many times should i forward the proof of payment before my query could be sorted out. They claim to have received my proof of payment, yet they claim that they will list me. Is this the right manner to treat your customers??
