I leased a property in June 2010 for a period of 1 year, and seen as there was an existing contract between the owner of the premises and Adt, I was asked by the owner, if I would please keep Adt on as the owner did not want to cancel with them. I agreed to do this and seen as I would be utilizing the services, for a period of 1 year, I requested that Adt adjust there debit information to mine. There representative came out and I had to sign an agreement/form to allow them to debit my bank account. I have stayed on at the premises for 3 years now and am now moving, I telephoned Adt to find out my notice period and was informed it was 1 calender month which I duly did on the 2nd May 2013, today exactly 22 days after receiving my request I was contacted by Zeb Phele of Adt head office and informed that I was cancelling a 36 month contract and that I was liable for an Early Cancellation fee seen as my contract only ends at the end of July 2013. I explained to him that this is totally impossible, due to my lease agreement only being 1 year, why would I sign a 3 year agreement with them. I feel I was conned by there representative with the form I signed. Always read documents you sign
