Manager Unwilling To Compromise

After purchasing our ticket, my father and I were told at the confectionery counter that there was no running water in the entire mall and thus they could not provide us with drinks from the soda fountain. We decided to purchase 500ml bottles from a store in the nearby food court and returned to purchase popcorn.

As I tried to enter the cinema, the ticket collector told me that I would not be able to enter with the foreign item (the cooldrink) and the manager approached me to relay the same message, to which I rebutted that Ster-Kinekor was unable to provide me with the drink and asked what they expected me to do. The manager, preceding each sentence with the word "unfortunately" (although "ridiculously would have been a better alternative), repeatedly said that the water situation was the mall's problem and that he still needed to follow protocol.

I think that it's disgusting that he was unable to make what I would describe as a reasonable compromise in the given situation to the point that he consented to refunding the tickets and the popcorn as opposed to us taking the cooldrinks in. I wasn't costing Ster-Kinekor money by doing this yet he was wasting resources and my time.
