I gave the required one calendar month's notice to cancel my DSTV service. Obviously my account was debited for the month after cancellation. I requested my bank to reverse the debit order, which incurred me in unnecessary costs. I emailed Multichoice asking them who I should bill for the bank fees - this is the response I got - "
Dear Marcelle Fischer

CASE NUMBER: 4357301

Thank you for your email.

Kindly be advised that the Mag tape gets send to the bank 3 days before the actual debit order date which in your case is the 01st of every month.

Funds were the deducted from your account because debit order was still active, we confirm receiving your request to disconnect services on the 31 December 2013, however we were never received instructions to cancel the debit order on the account hence it remained active.

Kindly accept our sincere apologies on this regard. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I never cancelled the debit order??? My name spelt incorrectly??? Spelling mistakes???

What a laughable explanation for an oversight by DSTV!!!
