DSTV drops another programme guide

For quite a while DStv has offered an online programme guide called "Dish Digital." The link still appears on their website, promising that subscribers can "find out about the season and show premieres on all the channels on your DStv bouquet" and "if you're a Premium subscriber, you can expect a brand-new DStv Digital Magazine every two weeks." Not true! As of this month, the links no longer work.

After a frustrating week of trying to get someone from customer "service" to understand that there's a big difference between what Dish Digital used to do (alerting us about new series starting was invaluable because they dropped that service from the monthly guide long ago) and what the monthly guide does (not much beyond daily programme listing - the "highlights" seem to be chosen at random), I finally received an email saying, without apology, "we're not offering Dish Digital any longer." They advised me to download their new PC app, which just duplicates available information (and messed up my computer, too).

Why does DStv keep cutting down on the kinds of scheduling information most useful for planning viewing in advance? Why don't their customer service people read their email?
