Bad experience at Ster Kinekor - 26 January 2013

My kids and I had a very disappointing evening tonight when we went to Ster Kinekor Brooklyn to see Life of PI. The movie was scheduled to start at 19:45 and we arrived there at around 19:20 and joined the queue - which was not very long. There were three employees manning the ticket sale computers. It was my plan to also obtain the Ster Kinekor Vitality cards for my two younger children. When we came to the front it was just past 19:35. I was very bluntly told by the lady behind the computer that I have to join a different queue if I wanted to have the Vitality cards issued. As we were running out of time I said it is fine I shall forfeit the discount and then presented my debit card for payment. I was told that they do not take cards as they were off line. Being new to the area I do not know Brooklyn mall very well and asked for directions to an ATM. I was given faulty directions because we walked right through the mall in the direction the lady led us to believe an ATM is situated without finding one. It was after 19:45 so we came home without seeing a movie. A notice advising patrons of being off line or queues for different services would have helped. What a disappointment!
