Electricity cut from property rented from Dec 2012

We rented a duplex, 13 Ridgeview Gardens, from Remax in Amanzimtoti from 17 December 2012. There was a problem with the electricity account regarding the previous tenants or the owners. The agent, Mandy Lopez, promised that it was sorted out when we moved in. However, the supply to the unit was cut from 13h30, 14 January 2013. I contacted Mandy and she assured me that she will sort it out. I tried to contact her in the evening when the supply was still not restored but she didn't answer her phone. Her husband/boyfriend answer the phone at one stage and was very rude.
We are experiencing great difficulty and inconvenience. I had to take my family out for dinner and i cannot go to work due to certain preperations that had to be made. The food in my fridge has gone bad as well.
Is this the kind of service we can expect from Remax Amanzimtoti? Who is going to carry the extra costs that i have suffered now due to this negligence?
