I had renewed 6 months contract in July 2013 which was to expire in end of January 2014. On the 27th October 2013, 2 months into the contract, they said the unit I was staying in had been sold and I need to move out the next day, to which I declined because the contract stipulated I was to receive a month notice if I was to move, but they insisted and said they would move me into another unit in the complex, so I moved the following weekend on the 6th October. Much to my dismay, after moving to the new unit, they demand a new deposit of R4600.00 for the unit, and they said that the deposit I paid earlier had been used up in repairing my damages to the former property!
They use a different contractor for in-inspection as they are cheap, but when you move out, they use their own "contractor" who charges more than double for the same repairs the other would charge. Word is, this expensive "so-called" contractor is boyfriend of one Ione Du Toit who manages the complex, and she is basically cashing in the money to herself and her boyfriend. If you thought government was corrupt, wait until you encounter CSI Rentals!
