Khwela power is definitely taking advantage of customers. Our bill averaged at about R500.00 a month for the past year, then in august there was apparently increases which is understandable but then 2 separate increases namely invoice and deposit increases was added to our bill for R125.00 and R165.00 with no other description explaining these increases. Our account was then R 885.95 in august.

This was paid no questions asked as previous disputes with them concerning their "warning letter" fees was such an issue to sort out since bills where paid on time but we still received the letter.

However this month our account is again R890.65 with no extra amounts - just the electricity usage. How is that even possible when our average amount was R500.00 for an entire year. We weren't even home for the first 2 weeks of this month and no we didn't use heaters or left something on.

Their service is shocking. and we received a nice letter that a new water usage meter will also be installed in October - Another great opportunity for them to overcharge us. Luckily we will not be renewing at this place and will never again rent an apartment with Khwela power facilities.
