I applied for an unabridged marriage certificate on the 5th of October 2012. After three months I called to see what was going on and why they have taken so long, and was subsequently told to wait a further three weeks. I generously gave them four weeks and called this morning (6th March) to find out what was going on, and told to wait ANOTHER two weeks and to call back with my case number.
I was supposed to be moving to the UK at the end of January but ended up staying here a bit longer, luckily for Home Affairs! Now I want to leave soon and I still have no marriage certificate! Its been FIVE months!
