I've been using the above mentioned library i don't know for how many years now. Last year i borrowed a an accounting book plus CD's from bellville library as i normally do. I brought the CD's book back. I asked the lady if no one else has reserved the book and she said no and the book was renewed. The Cd cover had a crack on it and there was a library note indicating this. The lady told me if i didn't have the note i'd pay for that cover. I told her i have so many covers at home & she asked me to bring them. I brought the CD covers (not sure how many) the book and i told the lady i will clear my fine later coz i didn't have money on me. Went to clear the fine & the lady in bellville told me i must pay R400 for the unreturned book R26 fine. I don't mind paying the fine but why shlould i pay for the book that i returned? the lady told me arrongantly that its not on the system so i must pay it my card is blocked. i didn't argue i just left as i could see she has made up her mind. I'm doing a 4 year degree - why would i keep/ books knowing i will be needing more the following semester and followin years? i don't have money to buy textbooks hence using library. Dissappointed
