I went to Muizenberg Police Station and was greeted by a Woman who told me that she could assist me but doesn't see why she should as the officers don't assist her with her paperwork. After waiting for 20 minutes with my 4 year old daughter on my lap, I was approached by Warrant Officer Swanepoel. I explained that my sons phone had been, and the man who had it was calling everyone in my sons address book and harassing them, and calling and SMS'ing me from 0798004229 (the criminals cell number). Swanepoel asked me if I had the IMEI number and if I had blocked the phone. I explained that I had called in to Vodacom and blocked the sim. He said that without the IMEI number that is on the back of the cellphone (or on the original box), there is nothing the police can do. I got into my car and drove from Muizenberg to Vodacom Blue Route, where a really helpful guy blocked the phone. He said the police just need the 's cell number and they will track him easily. I drove back to Muizenberg Police Station where I waited for 15 minutes before Swanepoel finally approached me, before I could finish explaining he excused himself and dissapeared for 20 mins! I walked OUT!!!
