Am a Permanent Resident of Republic of South Africa. I had applied for my infant daughter's dependent visa 3 years back and I had received it then and is about to expire in December this year. Now that this is expiring, I re-applied for the renewal 3 months back in Johannesburg. Home Affairs. Now, I have to travel abroad in this month end. I went to enquire at the office that if they could give me a document stating that I am allowed to travel and return with my daughter into the country. Today, they say that the application is not even captured in the system because the previous application which was applied 3 years back, is not yet closed. They have asked me to go to PTA office and find out. I traveled all the way from Joburg CBD to Rooslyn PTA office to raise an issue. People there are not even bothered and are very reluctant to help. Apart from all this trauma, I also have my daughter's Permanent Residency application pending at Home Affairs since 3 years. Now I can't get the dependent visa, because of not closing a processed application for 3 whole years. I now have to travel to India urgently. I have no clue on what to do and where to go. Kindly help..
