So, we finally took the plunge and bought our own property November 2012. Although everyone warned us about the electricity and water accounts, we were positive. Our first months bill was R 2, 200.00! With the water being R 981 and Electricity R 1, 075. And we are only 2 people. The next month was R 620. With water being R 35 and Electricity R 590. So this month, my bill is R 2500!!! I was a good citizen and emailed my readings through to Tshwane Meter Readings, as you suggested I do. But still, you used your own readings that heaven only knows where you found. The readings are far beyond what my meters are currently at, 1 week after the billing! How can 2 people use 82KL water!! We don't have a swimming pool or even a garden to speak off. Will you ever sort out your billing system. Seriously, what do people do who cannot afford to pay these inflated bills? Sit without power until Tshwane decides to look at the problem. This is appalling!
