We are renting a business premises in Brakpan. In the first 8 months the owner of the premises overcharged us more than R120, 000 on electricity!! We went to the municipality and ask to help us because the owner just said if we do not pay they will cancel the contract and not renue it for the next year. The owner deduct it from our payments over the following 3 months, but that was not the total outstanding amount. I did sent Eskom a qeury on their website but did not get any feedback. Be careful, if you are renting from any one that the amount charged per unit is correct. The person who helped us at the munisipality was to scared to take it further or advice us. Our electricity bill is more than R30, 000 in a average month. We have paid an extra R15, 000 per month before we start investigating by ourselfs.
