Ystrdy some bright spark frm Muni put in a fitting over our main water supply which is situated just outside our garden gate. My husband had gone out shopping, then later changed a tyre on our car. Went out in car again but stopped outside our driveway in surprise to find something sticking up out of the ground! My hubby & son inspected it, really puzzled why this was done! No notice was given, no-one told us anything abt it! Hubby checked water in our kitchen and found all our water pressure had gone, so they tried to get into this fitting [whatever it is as we hav seen nothing like it before, hav no idea what it is?! ] they could not get to the main water supply! My husband phoned Muni immediately, told them whats happened. We askd wat r we supposed to do if we nd a plumber or we ourselves nd 2 turn our water off but cannot get into this thing? They said they wud send som one out within 4-24hrs! NO-ONE else in our entire street has this monstrosity sticking out of their ground, so why do we hav one? Why did no-one tell us abt this? Why has no-one shown us hw we can get to our main water supply to shut it off and to open it? 10:35am Muni sent guys 4 sewerage, blocked drain??
