Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality
Daylight

I am on the prepaid structure whereby I qualify for the free 100 units at the beginning of each month. Problem with this structure is that the later on in the month that you buy electricity the more expensive it becomes. I seriously wish that the tariff for the later purchases be revised and actually made cheaper. On Monday 29 July 2013 at 6:31am I bought R200 worth of electricity which was 79.7 units. For most of Monday the electricity was off due to maintenance. I again had to electricity on Tuesday, 30 July 2013 for R100 and which was 39.9 units. I realised on Tuesday night that this was not enough and purchased another R150 on Wednesday, 31 July 2013 at 05:56am. Explain to me how the it has cost me R450 for 2 and half days electricity. I do not have heaters or am negligent of leaving lights on etc. This is truely daylight to pay R450 to keep the lights on for 2 days.
