Johannesburg Water is currently replacing water pipes in the Glenanda area, they shut off the water yesterday (24 June 2013) at 10:00 no prior notice was given so nobody knew it was going to happen either.
When we inquired what the story was they told us the new pipes were being connected today and water should be on by 17:00 if there were no problems, this was not the case and water only came back on at 21:00 last night,
It was on for about 1 hour and then one on the joints between the existing pipe and the new pipe burst. There were also more leaks on some of the existing pipes were they did not work.
We called them and told them about the leaks, they told us the team that was working was busy with another leak in another area and would be there when they were done.
They never came out and water is still pumping out at the leak (what a waste or water, how can this be aloud to happen when water is a scarce resource). It is now 10:00 (25 June 2013) and still no end in site, still no one has come out to not even to shut off the water so it is not wasted, while all this is happening residents do not have any water.
