South African Police Service
Non-existent service

I phoned Marikana Police Station on 25 May 2013 - no answer. I phoned Mooinooi Police Station and asked Warrant Officer Stander to contact Marikana police via radio I want to lay a charge. No police attented to my request. I went to lay a charge at Marikan police on 26 May 2013. Sergeant TD Nkomo phoned on 27 May 2013 informing me that he will be at our plot at 17h00. Other incidents occur (cutting of chains and locks, etc.) and I phoned the police station numerous times. Every time I heard the same "we will be there in a few minutes, the police vans are out, no police van available". On 5 June 2013 I spoke to Warrant officer Bouwer he informed me he would send out a police van. No police visited us. In the meantime our ex-employee who I laid the charge against, provoked us, itimidated us, threatened to sell our stuff on the plot.
This is the reason why the public do not have any trust in the police service. I am staying alone on the plot while my fiance is busy on our farm near Groot Marico. Should people get murdered before the police react?
