For the past 6 months I tried to persuade the Tshwane Municipality to do something about a tree that was a high risk to the safety & health of residents in Brooklyn. It was growing into the overhead electrical wires opposite a primary school & also causing damage to vehicles and persons. Eventually on 17/04/2013 a city contractor came and cut down this tree but left the branches on the side of the road - apparently they could not remove it themselves, another team had to do this. It is now 7 weeks later & these branches are still there. But when you are requested to adhere to a municipal regulation(?) you are only permitted 30 days to respond(?) & that you do as a law abing citizen (?) Where is the fairness in all this? We all try and make this a safe, clean & green environment but then "our" municipality comes along and show us that this is actually only a one-sided responsibility? They don't have to honour the contract between residents & municipality although WE pay them their salaries.
Thanks Tshwane Municipality for NOT making us proud but showing us the true colour of service excellence!!
