On Sunday 29/09/2013 I heard a strange noise outside my house. I looked through the window and was astounded to see the Sunday Times carrier driving a silver Daewoo Matiz on my walkway to deliver the newspaper. The car was driven half on the walkway and half on the grass, dislodging some of the stepping stones on my walkway. Common sense normally tells one that a driveway is for cars and a walkway is for pedestrians. I ran out and asked the carrier not to do that again. No apology was forthcoming. This incident shows a clear disrespect for one's property. This incident and the deteriorating service in the last /- 12 years indicate the low standards that Sunday Times uses in choosing distributors and carriers alike. To top it all, when driving away, the driver did not seem to have the necessary skills to drive a car. This leads me to question whether the driver even has a driver's licence. Apart from disrespecting and causing damage to one's property, this carrier is also a hazard to fellow road users. I guess i will get the normal Sunday Times response -" we are sorry, and we will attend to the concern". Rather do something constructive and get new distributors and carriers.
