This is to report that on 17/06/2011 I went to Njikelana Optometrist in East London 256 Edcot Squire. for a eye test to obtain glasses as since 1983 I have been using glasses - The exercise was done and I chose the frames as usual. When I came for the glasses I was told that my medical aid does not pay as my husband had stopped subscribing to his Bonitas medical aid as he became jobless. I had to pay the amount in full which I did i.e paid the amount of
R690.00 & R1500.00 respectively and got the glasses and would come back to pay the balance of R1040.00 later. A day after I could not see at all with the spectacles as such I brought them back and the optometrist tested me again protesting however that I said I do not need the type of glasses she named (professional term I cannot remember). Got my spectacles again in a week's time the problem persisted.
I was unable to use them and just kept them and used my old glasses and I again contacted her and she said there is nothing that she could do about it, Her assistants kept on asking for the balance of her money and I told them the story, and she eventually took me to the debt collectors and that i
