Sick bird no refund

I have purchased a Blue Fronted Amazon for R 3500.00and me and my husband and other family members noticed a discharge from its nose the same evening. After 4 days it got worse and I contacted the seller and asked that they have the bird checked out by a vet as it was sick when I bought it and as it might be contagious. I took the bird back to them They are "self medicating" it and refuse to have a vet checked it out on their costs. So I have demanded my money back but they refuse as they now claim that hey have 3 witnesses that will state that the bird was healthy at date of purchase and will not refund me.
