It is very disappointing to learn that instead of saving animals the SPCA would much rather just put the animal down. They truly do not live up to their own standards. We found a cat at our house that did not belong to us, she was pregnant so we kept her for obvious reasons. Once she gave birth and we found suitable homes for the kittens we took the cat to the SPCA, we explained to them that we have 5 big dogs and we fear that they might kill the cat as they don't like cats. However - we also mentioned to them that should they not find a suited home in time to please not put the cat down. We also asked should we take the cat back if we had to adopt and go through the whole procedure of the adoption. She said they would make special arrangements to make sure we can get it back. Now they have phoned saying they are going to put the cat down, we asked if we could please get the cat back and we would give a donation by which she replied NO we either go through the procedure of adopting or they will put the cat down. I thought their goal were to save and care for animals, they just want to make MONEY and will kill animals if they cannot!!! I will also go to the newspaper.
