On Friday 22 March 2013 I paid my TV Licence (Which I now know was the WRONG thing to do). Believe it or not, that same afternoon, I received a threatening sms from their collectors (Nudebt). I phoned the SABC this morning. They told me that they have received their payment, but it is onlt for 1 of my accounts. According to them I have 2 accounts.
When I asked when the other account was opend, they said in 1999. (Being born in 1982, that means that I was only 17 years when I opened the account. I asked what is the ID number on that account, the ID they gave me, differs from mine with a few numbers. But according to the SABC, I should pay the outstanding amount of R5612.40 on that account as well, since it is linked to my name, even though I was still at school and a minor at that time, not even to mention that the ID numbers does not correspond.
According to the incompetent person at the SABC, a person is only a minor if he / she is younger than 14.
I want to buy a new TV. Now I have a TV licence, but still I can not buy a TV.
