I have had a slow puncture for the past 2 months. Need to inflate the tyre once every week. Because of time I have just never had it sorted. Today I had some time, so I went to get it done.
Went to Lombard tyres, who do all our companies tyres. The guy came and told me that the tyre is looking worn and I will need to get it replaced. I informed him that I have got clearance to get new tyres from my company, but I can only do it at month end. So I will need to drive it for the next 2 weeks.
Next thing the lady comes out and says they cannot plug it as the nail is in the side wall and legally they are not allowed to plug there. No worries, put the wheel back on, I'll just keep filling the wheel with air.
Now back comes the original man. Unfortunately they cannot put the tyre back on because he removed the nail. (Why would he remove the nail if legally he knew he could not plug it!)
I need to buy a new tyre. There is nothing else I can do. Disgusting way to make a sale.
Have reported it to the FD and MD of Lombard, never even bothered to send me a mail back. A thank you for your mail but we don"t care is better than nothing!
