3hours before funeral changes

On the 21st of December my father died of a heart attack and on the 23rd we visited doves to sort out all the details. They informed us that my father was too large to fit into a standard coffin. So we spoke to Mary at the Bluff branch to make sure they are able to provide a coffin that fits him. They assured us that the details we wanted on the coffin would be arranged onto a over-sized coffin. This morning, nearly a week later, they phone my mother and demand R8000 for a different coffin as my father is too large to fit into an over-sized coffin. the funeral was scheduled for 12pm and they phoned at 9am to tell us about the changes. when we ask why this wasn't checked before the day they cannot answer and only say it's because he swelled up. As a funeral home that has " Years of experience" why could they not have simply measured the body before hand and informed us? This is a disgrace as we have family from over sea's here for a limited time and cannot have the funeral today as Dove's is refusing to release the body in the new coffin until we pay theR8000. I have to now take a loan to cover the costs as both my parents accounts are frozen due to the law in this country.
